TWC music question
« on: August 14, 2007, 10:17:50 PM »
How does TWC get the music from scratch and play it nationally on the local forecast? Probably easier said than done.

If you mean like music made specifically for them, one thing I would be tempted to do is email Trammell Starks or FICARA asking them how they got involved with TWC. Always worth a shot.  :)

They probably just watched the channel and decided they wanted to compose music for it as a way to gain exposure. This is especially likely for Trammell who is an Atlanta area resident.

No, I mean from a technical side of view. I mean like does the music coordinator edit the songs on computer, keep them on file, use a special stereo system, like that.

The music guy edits them to fit into the LF flavors they will be used on. That's why when you listen to the full clip of a song you have to wait for the first minute or so before hearing the familiar part of the tune.

Why do they edit the music?

I think its to make the song fit into the segment better. Some songs sound a little awkard, even bad, on the LF if played right from the beginning.

I wish Steve was back. Even if his music choice is a bit off.

This may be a bit hard to explain, but I notice that the music sometimes cuts in at awkward times. Together We Will Conquer is one such example.

How is it awkward? Explain in much detail as possible.

There really isn't much detail to point out. The point in which it cuts in just doesn't feel right. Here is a clip of it:
