TV Tuner Help
« on: November 29, 2008, 02:42:52 PM »
Okay, right now, I have an ATSC usb TV Tuner with ToolMedia 3. The problem is that when I record TV for Youtube videos, It records it in MPG format, and when I try to put it in Windows Movie Maker, it puts it in as an Audio file, or when I convert it or upload the MPG file on Youtube, the Audio is messed up. Can anyone give me some help with this?

Thanks!
Robert

Windows Vista may suck, but it doesn't have any of those problems with its version of Movie Maker.

Try converting the mpg file to wmv.

You can just upload the MPG to YouTube... or use a better program.

I've already tried uploading a MPG file on to Youtube, which is my first XL video that I posted a few weeks ago here:
and the sound is off. And I also tried converting it. The sound is all messed up and the video speeds up at some points during the video.

Are there any other TV Tuner software out there that records and saves videos in different file formats? That may work.

Thanks for all your help by the way.

I use VirtualDub for all my recording, but you kinda have to know how to use it.

Could you use it for .asf files? And how would I edit the program, without WMM?

I don't use it to edit, just record. It allows me to compress to XVID and resize 640x480 on the fly.

Your tuner's screen and TWC would  appear in the program?

Maybe it's my video card. Every time I record videos, the screen lags significantly. Even with VirtualDub. I'll try my family PC and see if that works.

You just need to get Vista's Movie maker that will actually read mpgs as videos and then publish them.

Do you have a problem with that? <_<

XP's MM picks the mpg files up as audio only.
