Could someone help me out...
I have pops up coming up every 2-3 minutes ,even when I turned on the "Disable PopUps" setting in Trend Micro and IE. It's still coming up. And when I started my computer, I got a warning message saying "Your computer has various signs of viruses and malware!!! Your system needs to scan for virusses immediately!!"
Then a program called AntiSpyware 2009 came up.
I just closed out of the program since I know based on the spelling and grammar that it's malware itself. Has anyone ever gotten this before? I'm doing a Trend Micro scan right now and it found no threats on my system but the popups still appear. AntiSpyware and Trend Micro are not related with each other AFAIk.
Phony antivirus...do NOT use it at all or allow it to install anything. Most of the time there'll be a program (in add or remove programs) with a name of the likes of "ShoppingAds Helper". Go ahead and remove it, and you'll see zero ads, or at least a reduction after that. Happened to me too.
If you continue to get that message, also, do not use your debit or credit card for any type of online transaction. I tried to buy me a new Cricket phone, and before you know it, someone charged about $65,000 on my card. Wells Fargo Called me saying that someone hacked into my computer and they took my credit card information through malware. It's all good now, they called me back and they said they arrested the person after a charge was trying to be made in the Sin City.
Oh my goodness!
My English teacher told us about a situation exactly like this that happened to him. The pop-ups are basically to get you to waste your money on the software. Unfortunately, me teacher bought the software and then tried to cancel his credit card but couldn't, so he still had to pay an outrageous amount of money at the end of each month.
DO NOT buy the software, Victor! I know you probably have gotten the message by now, but the results of this are not good.
I can't believe companies are doing this to people.
