I can see Meredith acting like she does on the Today Show. Like a pure idiot. The only time she appears to be even vaguely serious is during the opening.

LOL, you know things are bad at TWCC when, except for one post from an admin the only people posting are arguably the three biggest nimrods in the TWC fan community. And its funny because its like all three are oblivious to what's going on (or not going on) around them.

And did I read here the other day that Matt FINALLY banned that bozo Roland? Good gosh, what did that take? Did he set a nuclear bomb off on the forum? Or did Matt realize how stupid he was to not ban someone who had committed the offense's Roland did, regardless of where he committed them? In other words, he realized he was an ass to continue endangering his members out of spite toward me?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I will NEVER buy a CFL lightbulb as long as I live.

1. They have Mercury.
2. They require proper disposal (No one will do it)
3. It's just a horrible product from the ground up.

They really need to overhaul things.

Does anyone know who Konnichiwa321 is on Youtube? He's sending me messages saying he was formerly employed at TWC as a graphic designer. However, me, being the smart person I am (  ) pretty much told him I didn't believe him, and now he says his TWC-obsessed friend had his password.

1. If you take care to not break the lamp, mercury won't be an issue. Even if you do break it (I have once), CFL's don't contain much mercury, so it's not a HUGE issue, you just got to make sure the room is well ventilated and all the broken pieces are picked up and disposed of.

2. What I do is just stick burned out CFLs in a plastic bag (a sandwich bag should do fine) and then throw them away like that. Learned that from a Forecast Earth report.

3. What exactly do you mean?

Sorry, I refuse to use poison in my home. A LITTLE Mercury is more than the amount that should be, which is NONE.

Do you have any idea how unrealistic that sounds? Light bulbs will break, you can try to avoid it, but it will happen at some point or another, and as stated, even a little mercury is hazardous, especially to humans and animals. And, whether you put it in a bag or not, it's still equally bad for the environment. You're contaminating landfills, which in turn, can contaminate ground water. On a large scale, that's poisoning half the population.

As for #3,
-They give horrible light
-They take long to reach maximum output.

I can go on for hours, but that would be boring.

Disagreeing with the contamination statement. I would say 95% of landfills have a liner or are getting a liner to prevent that.

Using that logic, I guess schools and offices are dangerous places to be, since they use fluorescent lights everywhere. :whistling:

Actually, most CFLs today give off light that is very comparable to incandescents. That's why when I switched in 2007, I had no problems with them because it was basically the same amount of light, with less wattage use. As far as light output, today's CFLs are nearly the same brightness at startup. There's a slight difference, but it's not that big of a deal IMO.
