IMO, the date is just gonna kept getting pushed back further and further. People are just gonna keep procrastinating thinking "eh, I'll get it when I need it." The only way to make everyone get their converter boxes/digital TVs is to shut off analog. People will then realize they need to do something, and they'll go out and get their boxes. That will be the only way people will learn.

They should've kept the February 17th date. We've been hearing that for two years now. America has had plenty of time to prepare. Every time you turn on your TV, you hear these ads, and now we're gonna be hearing them for another five months.

Whether the date is February 17, 2009 or June 12, 2009 or December 21, 2012, there are still gonna be people out there who aren't ready. Just shut analog off already.

*blows up*

I have a feeling a lot of stations are going to be shutting their analogs off before June 12th... as it's been said, it costs money to keep the analog and digital running cocurrently...

Ugh I cant stand rap! Its WAY over marketed. I mean look at the artist themselves. They set horrible horrible reputations.  Its just plain filth. Prehaps not all of it but most of it in my opinion. I prefer classic and modern rock, modern country, smooth jazz and some pop.

lmar take a look at this chart and tell me rap is the fastest growing genre. With all the marketing I would expect about have the chart to be rap artists.

Top 10 Selling Albums in 2008

Rank Album Artist
1 As I Am Alicia Keys
2 Noel Josh Groban
3 Tha Carter III Lil Wayne
4 Long Road Out of Eden Eagles
5 Taylor Swift Taylor Swift
6 Rock N Roll Jesus Kid Rock
7 Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends Coldplay
8 NOW 26 Various Artists
9 Carnival Ride Carrie Underwood
10 The Ultimate Hits Garth Brooks

Like I said earlier, being a rapper himself makes him partial. Fortunately the rest of us can be impartial since we have no connection to any genre of music.

Here is a little something.

2-4 inches with a glaze of ice expected here through tomorrow AM. If we get a delay tomorrow, then the scheduled half day will become a full day, meaning dismissal at 2:26 instead of 11:30, and the half day will be pushed over to Thursday. I very much prefer either having a half day tomorrow or no school at all. There are no lunches being served tomorrow either, meaning I'd have to bring my own, and I have nothing I could bring.

How can you people eat school lunches?  I carried my lunch every day from middle of sixth grade clear though high school.

Eh, horrible idea. Analog is a waste of space, we have to get rid of it sometime. The pros outweigh the cons when it comes to switching over.

If they would of just done it anyway, and at the same time pumped more money into the program, people would of been without FREE TV for what, a few days? If people are that worried about losing TV for a few days maybe they should get some DVDs or VHSes and watch those in the mean time.

The problem with DTV is how huge the digital boxes are, and how Comcast is still increasing their prices. It would be neat if they could just have some adapter that you could put on the TV's coaxial port.

No. Just no.

People should be able to have the option for both. While digital may be highly encouraged, there should still be an alternative option. As I've said before, technology upgrades enforced by law is ridiculous.

If we were to keep analog and digital, it would cost the stations more money for operating both Analog and Digital towers. TV is just a simple service, it's not a lifeline nor is it a utility. Maybe if it was something like radio that is like impossible to make converters for due to different kind of cars, I'd tend to agree more with you. We need to make space for newer technologies. It's going to happen in the first place because in the upcoming years no one will be using it anyway, but why not do it now to get it over with now? Cable companies are realizing this, too, by getting rid of most of the analog also, in a digital world, analog is a waste of space and technically inferior.

I like the school lunches, I just wish they had more variety. At least they have Snapple and Vitamin Water this year, even though it's $1 extra.

...this has nothing to do with Comcast.  However, Comcast's own DTV switchover is coming with a small box that acts like an adapter.

Lemme see if I can find it...
