I can see this is going to cause confusion and frustration, but imo this new set date should have been decided on months ago, Did they honestly believe every American was going to be ready for this? My grandma doesn't even have a converter box yet because we still haven't gotten the coupons that were sent in almost 2 months ago. Leave it to our lousy government. :rolleyes:

Just funding and the coupon extensions alone would of made more sense and would of helped even more in a separate package!

But the Date Change makes no sense to me if you make a promise just keep it  :yes:

I have a feeling that people will think that the date will keep getting pushed back, and they will not have to get a box in the first place, and when it actually happens, people are going to be pissed everywhere. This is the most ridiculous idea ever.

IMO, the date is just gonna kept getting pushed back further and further. People are just gonna keep procrastinating thinking "eh, I'll get it when I need it." The only way to make everyone get their converter boxes/digital TVs is to shut off analog. People will then realize they need to do something, and they'll go out and get their boxes. That will be the only way people will learn.

They should've kept the February 17th date. We've been hearing that for two years now. America has had plenty of time to prepare. Every time you turn on your TV, you hear these ads, and now we're gonna be hearing them for another five months.

Whether the date is February 17, 2009 or June 12, 2009 or December 21, 2012, there are still gonna be people out there who aren't ready. Just shut analog off already.
