Has anyone heard about the MagicJack? My dad just ordered it. It's supposed to give you free phone calls in the US and canada with a broadband connection and a 30 dollar yearly fee. Not sure if this is a good product though. Would I need my PC on all times to use this?

return it immediately. You get a lot of static, dropped calls, and poor customer service. I know this from experience and the experience my friends have had. I do not trust my usb port to give me telephone service. You're better off getting something like Vonage.
