No more risks than any other internet website. The internet itself is a very dangerous place.

True. Just don't reveal too many personal things that's all. I think Facebook is safer. Both sites are not 100% safe but facebook has more filters and you can limit as to what your friends can see. Also you have to log in facebook to use it.

My parents would get so pissed off if they saw I had a facebook or myspace. They actually have no idea that I email artists for music or that I'm a member at these forums.

No, they don't. I have my own computer, my own TV, and my own room.

Myspace/Facebook is as dangerous as you make it.  If you don't want you identity shown, hide your last name.  You don't have to put exactly where you live.  Don't put a picture online.  And make people who request you, know your eMail/last name (at least for myspace.)  Facebook.. you can only view people in your network (s).

I have a facebook, but not much information other than my birthdate, interests, etc. I rarely use MySpace anymore due to how poorly organized people's profiles there are. I only use it now to contact music artists.
