Has anyone heard of a Slingbox?

I spent a friggin 240 bucks on it in Circuit City today. Its a TV Tuner that you can carry anywhere and get a signal from half a mile away. So basically i can record an IS from ny neighbor's house without a problem.

Installation will come Wed and i hopefull will get some clips up.

I also was about to buy the WInTV HVR 950 but i will later if the Slingbox fails because i like to try it out. I can also TWC on my cell phone!

Sorta.

You can watch live and recorded shows and movies with it and you dont need a coaxial cable for it. I can put the thing in my neighbor's house and record the IS straight from home!

And here's an article. I hope the thing can record live tv and save on computer. I did not buy it to watch tv on computer

well today, I hope to get highlights.  :P a lot of my friends are looking forward to it, however my parents (mainly that bitch of a mother) are giving me lip about it.

my mother says just because she doesn't get highlights i should either. wtf? its not your hair, get over it. even if they still disapprove of it, i'm going to get it behind their backs and piss them off even more.

retards.

Vic, the Slingbox broadcasts over the internet from a cable box or satellite receiver to a computer to view it. We have 2 of them setup at the station for weather cameras.

You don't record programming to it, you record the programming; from it.

You could use VLC Media Player to record it.
