Yes when i get the tuner i can transfer the tape to computer but i can't record it with a VCR because there's an error in the VCR for recording tapes.I'm assuming u want the playlist recorded for music? I can use Audacity and record the song(s) with my microphone.

Unfortunately, the computer did not come with the 8.6 CD. So I suppose I'm stuck then, because I can no longer get into OS 9 at all, extensions or none.
Try starting the Mac while pressing Command + Option + P + R, and wait until you hear the startup chime for the second time before releasing the keys. That will reset the PRAM in the machine, and that might get it back working.
What I actually did (I hadn't seen your post beforehand) was performed a clean install of OS 9. It seems to have resolved the issue, as it wiped away all the extensions and other settings from 8.6. :sunglasses:
