Well this storm was a bust (at least for part 1). One of the main reasons why it was a bust was because a lot of people put stock in the NAM, which showed about 6-8" here last night, only to wake up to nothing but a coating. Even the Euro had about 2-3" for us last night, every model busted. The main reason why we didn't wake up to that much snow was because the surface temps were too warm and precip rates were too low for anything to accumulate. It's been on/off snow here all day, but nothing accumulating. The NAM busted big time here. We are now entering part 2 of the storm, and once again, the NAM is showing ridiculously overdone QPF amounts vs. other models. It has about 1.5" of QPF from an inverted trough. The NAM snow maps show 12-14" here. All other models are showing anywhere from 3-8" here, if we are lucky enough to get anything accumulating. The model mayhem is really annoying. Why can't it just be spring already? Good news the GFS shows some 60's and 70's around the first day of spring, so that's something to look forward to.
