Is Dish in the middle of another one of those stupid contract disputes? I've been seeing commercials on TV about certain TV shows/channels not being available on Dish. One of the most recent cases I saw was with our NBC affiliate and sister station MyAtlTV where they were saying subscribers to Dish should call in by midnight last night if they didn't want to lose those channels.
When disputes happen between providers and local channels, it's usually the owner of the channel that causes the blackout to occur, not the channel itself.

Ok, that makes sense because I've only seen about four channels advertising themselves as not being available on Dish anymore such as AMC (saw a Walking Dead Promo on FOX where they mentioned it) WeTV, and another channel I can't remember right now along with the two I already mentioned which made me curious to ask.

They seriously DON'T have anything better to do. That's the same pathetic fight they brought up about Mario wearing Tonooki(sp?) suits as a power up a couple of years ago which is strange itself because they didn't seem to put much emphasis on the fact that he wore frog, racoon, and penguin suits also.  <_<

I think that contestant suffered stage fright more than anything, but come on!  If I was the host, I would have also asked her the exact same question at 1:34!  Mental math ought to be a requirement in schools these days.  I really appreciate how much it has helped me in my life after competing in Math Field Day for eight years and still using those skills everyday.

I'm great at mental math, but if she was nervous like she said she was (and I'm pretty sure she was) your brain can flake out on you. That happens to me when I get nervous or anxious which is why I HATE taking tests. I also have a bad habit of second guessing right answers.

I have to admit - my mental math skills are pretty much zero, even when I'm in a totally calm environment.  Beginning in high school (20-some years ago) we were taught to pretty much rely on the calculator for everything, but before that we were expected to come up with answers in our heads, which I just could never do.

I was listening to my new age station on Pandora this morning, and it was playing a song by Yanni. While listening to the song, I couldn't help but notice how much it sounded like another new age song I knew. It took a few minutes, but it finally hit me. It sounds a lot like Ryan Farish's "Sunshine In The Rain." Listen to clips of the two songs below and tell me I'm not crazy.

Judging from the release dates, I'd say Yanni owes Ryan some dough! :o

Eh, I can kinda hear the resemblance at the beginning of both samples, but I think there's just enough difference to avoid anything as extreme as legal action.

This week (and part of last week also) we've been working in Adobe Illustrator in my Intro Design/Media Production Class. We had to do this flower drawing assignment today. I think it came out OK for a first timer like me using Illustrator, what do you guys think? :dunno: My teacher from that class thought it looked good while I was working on it so as long as she thinks it's good I guess that's all that matters.  :P

Btw, that Pen tool was such a pain in the butt to use for the first time. <_<

It may just be me, but that sounds a bit more like "Atlantica" than "Sunshine in the Rain"

Ever since about two weeks ago, my house has been infested with fruit flies, so I made a homemade trap based on an article I read about online on how to get rid of the flies. I used a small bowl, poured a little bit of apple cider vinegar, and added a couple drops of dish soap. According to the article I was reading about, the vinegar attracts the fruit flies, and once they land on the surface of the cider with dish soap, they fall in and drown. So far, it's working, as it has killed a few of those pesky fruit flies    Now I have my fingers crossed, hoping this trap will kill all, if not, most of the fruit flies in my house.

BTW, here is the link to the article I was reading about on how to kill the fruit flies.

Forgot to mention this but when I was at the 4th Tri-State Weather Conference on Saturday, I got to have lunch with the longest running primary meteorologist on a radio station, Craig Allen (yes we have the same name, I was named after him). I also got to speak with WCBS-TV's primary prime time meteorologist Lonnie Quinn, though he's not a real meteorologist. It was a great conference. I'm surprised at my self how well I was able to understand what they were talking about, especially when they went into detail about mesocyclones and dual-polarization radar.
