I hope you all realize that this thread will close for the season in six days.  We're moving to the Front Porch on March 20 as spring begins at 1:14 AM EDT that day, but it almost feels like spring is already here.

It has felt like spring here in Florida since December, outside of a few cold snaps.  :P

The Pot Belly Stove was more like The Sauna this year.

Only had to get that pot belly stove running a few times in January (mainly first week) where one of those days it only got into the 20s and felt like 0 yet I saw one of my former classmates from high school only wearing a t-shirt, cap, and shorts.  I know us Southerns are not always as prepared for winter weather, but come on. That's even worse than the time I saw a guy leaving his stalled car on I-20 during the January 2011 Snowjam in a shirt, jeans, and flip flops while it was 20 something degrees outside and whiteout conditions.

I've been wearing shorts all this week, and it looks like that'll continue well into next week. All things considered, this winter just felt warmer than normal; I didn't even break out my heavy coat once. I went the entire winter with just a light jacket.

I live in the lake effect snow belt of Indiana.

I shouldn't be scrambling for the fans and shorts on the 15th of March.

The president is in town today, dang I wish his motorcade could have came past my house or at least somewhere very close by. :hmm: There's a flood of people out on the streets at his fundraiser.

So the NOAA/NWS website is really making me angry right now.  All day Thursday, and now today (everything was fine yesterday), I can't get an accurate, detailed forecast because I get this message: The 'Forecast At A Glance' icons, hourly weather graph feature, Spanish version, and temperatures in Celsius are temporarily not available for this location for technical reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience. Additionally, the local observations have not received a current update for almost 24 hours.  What's causing this?

It might be a local server error or something.  Try calling your Norman NWS office and see if they have any ideas.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! :cool2:

When I lived in Massachusetts, that error message appeared whenever there was severe, rapidly changing weather in the area.  In that case, the forecast area expanded from my corner of the county to most of the eastern half of the state.

However, it's also conceivable that there are technical problems, updates, etc., that might be preventing a regular localized forecast on that page.  If you want the real answer, send your NWS office an email.  They're usually pretty good about responding.
