Here's a little friendly reminder about next Sunday:  Daylight Saving Time begins on March 11 at 2 AM local time.  Make sure you set your clocks ahead one hour at that point.  This forum will handle the DST change automatically, so check your forum profile to ensure your time offset setting is correct for your time zone. ;)
Hate losing that extra hour of sleep! Oh well, at least that's the week of my spring break

I'm still glad about daylight savings time.  I hate when the sun sets so early in the winter. Makes everything feel boring and like the day is over took quick. IMO, longer evening hours is a plus for me

Seems like weird weather is occurring all over the globe. Did a little research, and found out that a massive wind storm witnessed in Wellington, New Zealand was in response to a bombing low off the East Coast. Pressure dropped nearly 30 mb in about 20 hours. Wind gusts got up to 70 mph, with an isolated report of 85 mph.

Also, seems this summer has been very cool. Temperatures here have been lower than normal for much of the season...just as temperatures in much of the United States have been above average. At least it's raining every other day. :P

You got that right. There was actually snow in the Sahara this winter!

Seems typical here during active winters, unfortunately, this winter hasn't been active. The highest wind gust on Long Island in the past 3 months was only 69mph. :P

The sun (del sol :P) just emitted a huge flare that will reach earth in the next few hours and last into Friday - likely disrupting satellite, GPS, telecommunication services, and even the power grid.

I'm not sure if that's the case, because after all it is that time of year again for sun outages to disrupt satellite signals!

Actually, Austin is correct.  Two solar flares erupted from the sun, so we'll be experiencing a solar storm soon.  Some of you in the northern locations may have a chance to see the auroras if this storm is strong enough.  Here's a link with more information:  http://www.space.com/14811-huge-solar-flares-erupt-sun.html

The chance for northern latitude locations in the continental US to see the auroras will be cut slim due to the full moon. :(

Wow. Over the past 18 hours within a 200ft radius to my exact location there was:

A car accident involving two cars, both people were taken to the hospital
3 Police cars right at the house across the street from me
And now the fire department is at a house about 200ft from me. :fire:

Sadly, some areas in urban neighborhoods are that hectic.  I hope you're thinking of going somewhere safer when you're older if you can.
