It's hard to believe that we're less than two weeks away from Halloween.  This month is flying quickly.  Hope all of you are doing well as we approach the holidays!

I can't wait for Halloween. I'm not sure what to dress up for yet, but if I were to make a fast costume, I may end up being a Meganium. If I go for last minute costume shopping, I may end up being a Roman Empress.

Or, maybe... Lady Gaga
..................kidding. :P

I'm more looking forward to the candy than the whole costume thing. Still I have to take my sister trick-or-treating... which I hate. lol

Is anyone else dressing up for Halloween?

I think this is kinda neat. A local restaurant chain, Eat 'n Park, has been taking steps to go green for years now, with a lot of it's tables and such in new restaurants being built from recycled materials. But now, they are installing a wind turbine on their new Fox Chapel location. As someone who works in a large chain restaurant, we waste a LOT. All of our food is portioned in the mornings in plastic bags, used once, and thrown away. We don't recycle anything... all of our beer bottles (literally hundreds per night) are just thrown away, etc. So I appreciate anything Eat 'n Park does to go green.

Halloween seems to get less and less participation every year. :( Most people around here don't give out candy like they used too. Glad my trick-or-treating days are over. :D

I loved trick-or-treating when I was little, then at about 13 I stopped. Then around 15 or 16 I started going with friends again, but not dressing up. Then I dressed up for senior year in high school, but didn't trick-or-treat.

Oh, btw, Halloween in college is completely different. :P Guys all try to dress up and go as a theme (That 70s Show, the Flintstones, etc), and girls are usually dressed slutty. There's often themes like "CEOs and Business Hoes," "Romeo and Juliet," etc. And instead of candy, there's jello shots and jungle juice.

I stopped wearing costumes for Halloween after fifth grade (we were REQUIRED to wear costumes in elementary school because they had a Halloween parade, silly, huh?). There are still a few people in my subdivision here in Marlton who trick or treat, but my dad tells me there's hardly any trick or treaters in Bensalem anymore.. in fact trick or treating really wasn't that popular at least in the part of Bensalem I live in during the 20 years we've lived there.

Ah, Halloween, where girls do not get bashed for being a slut :P.  I stopped dressing up when I was 15, after that it was just a chill night with friends, or I have had to work.  This year, I am visiting my best friend at college..should be a good time.

Trick-or-Treating has always been popular with my family.  When I was younger my cousins and I would go over to Iowa on Oct 30 (that's when they did trick-or-treating), and go over to 3 or 4 different neighborhoods on Oct. 31st.  My neighborhood is HUGE..so we see a lot of kids on Halloween.

I am looking more forward to the candy sales on November 1st :)

A storm sysytem expected to hit the Great Lakes around Halloween might give me my first flakes of the season! (Too early to tell/get excited.)

It's a secret, but it's a "handwritten" if you're interested in searching the free font websites... If anyone else would like one, I would be more than happy to make one for you... It is intended to look like translucent glass... I can use a different color too, with the exception for black. See examples below:

I think I have something fun in mind for Friday, October 29th when we wear costumes. I'm gonna wear green in front of the green screen for that day so all you will see is my head when I do the weather. :P

Make sure the greens match.
