It's gonna snow here this weekend....and it's been mid/high 60s the last few days.
Not any huge deal, but yeah, we are in for a few flakes (mostly tomorrow nite here). Lansing's monthly snowfall average for March is 8.5"... and I don't believe that has been reached since 2002. Ah well, hopefully we get that last bang of the year like we always do in April.

Anyways, today, after looking it up, I discovered I have a condition called Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ). For the past couple of months, I've been noticing how occasionally when I yawn, my jaw pops right below my left ear, and it then becomes incredibly hot and inflamed below my ear for a few seconds. It's irritating, lol.

Also on the subject of today, Earth Science was a bit fun. We did a "sun poll" as a class activity. Basically our teacher allowed us all to pull out our cell phones for it. How it works is that there is a powerpoint that she downloaded, which connects to the internet. As we get to a slide, a question is asked. We text a code to the number. As the text is sent, it automatically appears live on the powerpoint. It was really fun, and imo, that is the kind of effective review I would love to see other teachers take note of.

I have no idea where to put this, I don't think it counts as an actual discovery but for me it's highly special.

I went to my sister's apartment in Holtville and stayed there for the day. She has cable so once I heard, I realized that i was able to see if the Valley has an intellistar. And it does!!!! I even bought my camera to record two of the IS flavors, and part of the new LDL. I'm also thinking of contributing these to here, and be able to provide IS information. Now I know that EC has a STAR, and my wish to see it in person has come true.

I always consider March as a month of transition as it can act like winter one day and spring the next.

That's why I like March, it's a battle between Winter and Spring. We know Spring is gonna win anyway, but it brings interesting weather.

The 23rd would be the first full 24 hr. day of the autumnal equinox. What makes 2010 different is that a full moon will coincide with it. First time since 1991.
Quite an amazing view!

I've found that I've lost nearly ten pounds since I've stopped drinking soda about a month ago.
Wow! Thats really impressive!

Actually, just drinking diet soda almost has the same effect as you're taking away a bunch of calories.  Ana is right though that water and juice are more helpful to your health, and it's something I could do better as well.
Thats an interesting point. Ive read several studies that question how effective diet drinks are. Seems artificial sweeteners could do more harm than good in certain people.

so, last night I decided to go to sleep early...at 11.

at 3:30AM - SURPRISE. the fire alarms in my dorm started blaring. the 500+ residence, alongside myself, were pretty pissed. :club: we still have no word on who caused it to go off, maybe it's better that way  :P

the situation took about 30 minutes, I came back to my room around 4 and I couldn't fall back to sleep. lol, eh oh well.

That happened to me one semester at 7 AM during finals week.  It woke everyone up who wasn't awake and caught others who were taking a shower or halfway dressed.  You can imagine how upset my dorm became, and the campus policeman who responded was pretty mad.  I guess it's inevitable that you have to face a fire alarm at the worst times in college if you live in a dorm.
