Is it safe for someone (*cough* my mom that I hate) to use the microwave 16 times a day?
That's just crazy. She could get cancer at that rate! :o
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

There has never been a scientifically proven link between microwave ovens and cancer. Got about the same risk as cellphones causing cancer probably

God knows. I can't use the slingbox/Internet because it goes out every friggin time she turns on the microwave. She eats too much and has to heat 4-5 different dishes in the microwave for each meal. I warned her that it is probably not a good idea but obviously she doesn't care. Whatever happened to freshness? Because of our family's overuse of microwaves (which I don't like because microwave heated food tastes like crap), we had to get our 3rd new microwave in 2 years last month.

Well its not unsafe but its not healthy either (Food wise) My family stopped having traditional meals when my Dad passed so I have been a microwave junkie too much :P Still thats excessive eating for 4-5 dishes per meal for one person. Hope its something at least somewhat healthy

I use microwaves a lot as I normally don't have the time and energy to cook after school or work, but the most I've ever used it in a day was four times.  I help cook when it comes to holidays and family gatherings.  I just never get really motivated when I'm only serving myself. :hmm:  However, I've actually lost weight in the past year just because I haven't eaten as much due to all the stress over finding a job and battling loneliness, which is one of the major reasons I even decided to join here.

I only use the microwave for those frozen dinners, which I really like since they are plenty enough for a meal and yet are portioned. However, I don't end up using the microwave either. Ever since I got braces in June 2007, I've gotten used to not having popcorn or really hard candy. I can't imagine I've had popcorn more than 4 or 5 times since then.

Go buy a sandwich maker or waffle iron and do some Google searches for recipes.  One of the best purchases I ever made.

I use a microwave only for reheating (maybe twice a week at most).

I use a microwave almost every day '(only a couple times, not 16).  I almost have too.  I don't normally have time to cook a meal in the oven or on the stove, so I  always have to heat something up.  I don't mind microwave food at all.
