Hai. I haven't really been in the Stove in a while...so I 'spose I should update some stuff.

1. I am sick of snow. I will explode on contact if a snowflake lands on me.
2. I learned CSS sprites. Don't EVER do it if you are like me and don't have any patience.
3. I made a cute little radar website. It uses shiny stuff.
And there is more stuff that I should put here, but I don't feel like typing it. :P Hope to be more active in the coming months.

Interesting, Jonny. A friend of mine (who made my avatar pic), knows CSS sprites as well. she says it's very hard but she's used to it.

btw, I'm getting tired of the rain. To be honest I enjoyed the 80 degree temps last week that got me to wear shorts and flip-flops all week to school. It's gonna rain tomorrow, and I wont be able to take my niece to a concert :(

Rain is meh I can handle it over anything for certain amounts of time but snow...is yuck.. This is the 4th snowstorm our area had and the 5th snowday from school so far. And yet another blizzard is gonna hit the NE next week. Gosh, is this all global warming related?

I hope you all realized that I warned you about this winter being wacky due to El Niņo conditions.  Everything has certainly been active, but it doesn't really surprise me.  There's nothing we can do now except deal with it.

Yeah, which was something I am not really used to, but oh well. Gotta get used to it, right? :P

I'm used to it and can deal with El Nino over La Nina. I rather have buckets of rain and snow than to go another 3 years dry as a bone desperately waiting for some kind of precip to fall on us, but that's just me. Georgia, Alabama and Florida are already in a water war because of what the previous La Nina did to our region.

We all get affected by El Nino and La Nina differently. For me, La Nina is actually a good thing. Our last El Nino winter, 2006-2007, was by far THE most miserable winter I have ever been through. It was incredibly mild, our highest snow total was about 4 inches, and just about every shot of snow we had turned into a bust. The next winter, 2007-2008, was one of the best I had had in years. And that was a La Nina winter. We got bombarded by storm after storm after storm. Numerous events, including our first white New Year's since the turn of the millennium. While the 69.5 inches of snow we ended up with that season is not the highest snow total we have ever seen here in Lansing, it was definitely a banner winter. The Grand Rapids area closed that winter with near 100 inch snow totals. The second I found out that this winter was going to be an El Nino winter (back in August), my mood started to fade, and the color drained right out of me. This winter has had several lates for me... namely our first snow guess not being until 12/3, and our first big snow being in the second week of February.

Point being, we all get affected differently.

So, I just got back from the Haslett High School talent show... except I was not in it nor was I an audience member... I was one of 3 people manning cameras. I'm really taking an active interest in being on TV production next year (which is what viewers of the E.L. and Haslett see on TV every Friday), as weather geek sounds neato to me :P
We just started using the cameras yesterday in TV Media Issues, and this was a new experience for me this evening... taking direction from the director in the control booth, and maneuvering the camera. It was definitely something you need to be awake for and concentrating on...

Using a server OS as a workstation OS can be frustrating and rewarding at the same time.
