The new accuweather.com (coming soon) looks much superior to weather.com IMO

http://www.weatherforyourlife.com/

Curious how they implement ads. This new design looks much better than weather.com. Now if only they could improve their forecasting accuracy and perhaps kill JB while they are at it :P

Good luck with that one, Martin! :P  I know AccuWeather's goal has been to pass weather.com's hits for a long while as they even told me publicly during a freshman tour of the place, and this new design is certainly going to help them.

Doubt that will ever happen

The death toll from the Haiti quake has now reached 150,000. This is terrible. How did so many people die from a mag 7.3 quake? The quake was not a 9.0 and did not produce a tsunami unlike the 2004 Indian Ocean catastrophe so I would've thought the death/damage would be a bit less. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Boy, this earthquake was the last thing that nation needed.

I hate to sound sadistic and insensitive here (since I'm not like that), but I'm getting awfully tired of hearing about this. WAY too over-covered, imo. Haiti is not the only story out there...

Probably because of how dense the population is in that tiny island (over 900 per square mile) and that shelter and money wasn't so good in that country to begin with.

Very sad indeed. The reason why is that the buildings in Haiti were constructed well but were not earthquake resistant. It makes me cry though to see raw video and pictures on the news.

Haiti's biggest problem is only having one airport runway, one sea port, and one road from the Dominican Republic leading into that city.  No aid is going to be moved around quickly with that kind of infrastructure.

Well, that's too bad. <_< This is certainly a TOP story and not that overcovered since it's very sad  and not something dumb like Michael Jackson's death. If you're tired of hearing about it, don't watch TV or stay off the computer. ;)

I agree. My condolences go out to the families who lost their loved ones. Disrespecting something like this, is very ingrate

I have to agree...it pisses me off to see someone saying they're so tired of hearing about the earthquake. I ranted about this yesterday and I will continue to.

100% Agree. It is done and over with. And the Haiti Telethon on TWC? Really un-necessary. Another thing about TWC that is ticking me off. I mean, really, NBC news break-ins on WUWA? It's not "The News Channel", It's "The Weather Channel". TWC is really going downhill after the NBC takeover.

NBC Universal
   :stupid:

:rofl2:

Once again, you people are thinking like fans and not the average viewer. TWC wouldn't be doing these things if people weren't watching. Get over yourselves already and think once and awhile.

 Thank You.

I would really like to see how ratings are after the NBC takeover.  I assume they are good, or they would have already changed some things.  But, I see it as a one-stop channel for the average viewer.  You get your weather several times throughout the hour, and you get your update of all kinds of news a couple times throughout the hour.

Do I agree with it?  Not exactly.  Am I going to sit here and contiue to complain and groan everytime TWC has a news update on there, No.  There is nothing that we can do.  If you want to do something, then simply don't watch.  If you aren't happy with what you are watching, just switch the channel   There are many many more channels for you to choose from.

As for the Hope for Haiti Now Telethon.... kudos to The Weather Channel for showing it.  I can't see why any of you would even complain about them showing it.  Have a heart, seriously.  Haiti, as mentioned before on this forum, is the poorest (or one of the poorest) country in the western hemisphere.  They seriously need this money.  The more viewers that this telethon can get, the more money that will be raised.

I hope everyone is doing alright with their exams this week.  I can tell that it's a busy time for most of you as things are really quiet here.
