I've been wondering, what's causing the increase in on-duty officer deaths? Do people these days just hate the police?

It seems like a combination of hate and disrespect towards higher authority.

Well to me, that explains why the "rebellion" of sorts against higher authority exists, but I think the question here is to why the problem has become more prevalent of late. When it comes to that, I haven't a clue.

The whole economy excuse is complete B.S. An anchor on the news mentioned that. Just because the economy is bad doesn't give you the right to take someone's life.

It's a sad day locally. A Penn Hills Police officer was basically ambushed last night while responding to a domestic violence call. He was shot while sitting in his patrol car awaiting backup. This hits home really hard because I know quite a few of the officers with the department (about 30 officers). I didn't know him personally, but this is a shame. Earlier this year 3 officers were killed in the City of Pittsburgh, where they were also ambushed when responding to a call.

Just recently a border patrol agent got ambushed on duty as well. The whole Imperial Valley, including myself, mourned. It's really sad and terrible to hear about officers dying on duty.

People will get emotionally disturbed by anything. Although you have a point, it just can't be the economy causing the increase in police deaths. More people could be homeless and in poverty and they get very depressed by that. Plus the police are on the streets the most, so with those people and the police out in the streets at the same time, anything could happen and this seems to be the case.

i've restarted my laptop multiple times, unistalled the program, reinstalled it and it to refuse open. any ideas on a fix?

Hundreds of dollars to get recordings from a dozen locations, and neither of the two computers in my house will read it
