HiRAD has been guessing snow and wintry mix in areas as far south as Doylestown! Some of my northernmost cities on my regional map also reporting moderate snow.

Well, I haven't seen any more than light snow reported in Erie and Green Bay. No snow here yet :hmm:

Figured I'd move Balloon Boy discussion out of the TWC section to here.  Normally I wouldn't cite TMZ, but...huh.

Thanks for the kind words and best wishes on my move.  Many of you within TWCT are my only friends that are still in touch with me as all my real-life friends have moved away from here or are unavailable as they're so busy, so I really appreciate the support from everyone here.
Good luck Patrick. It's really a pity to see you turned down on every interview. I can't imagine how it feels to be in that position. :( I'll miss you so I hope all goes well back in WV.

Thanks.  Meteorology is a very competitive field now.  The fact that I've been interviewed twice is a good sign that the NWS sees value in me, so it's hopefully only a matter of time before I make it.  My family just told me today that they're getting DSL internet as they're tired of the dial-up, too.  Thus, I'll actually have decent internet when I move to WV that will allow me to keep in touch with everyone.

I'm out of words on what to say about this family.

And the first flakes of the season are falling here at school. I love the snow. :)

Wow, if flakes started falling here, school would get cancelled instantly. :bleh:

Wow, I must say.

It's been getting rather cold and lonely here in Albany, so I'll be moving back home to WV with my family on October 23.  My lease is expiring at the end of this month, and I still haven't had much success with the job search yet. :(  I'm still trying to land a NWS job although things are going very slow now.  I was just turned down again during a recent interview, so things aren't going well for me.  I won't be online during the later part of next week as I disconnect everything.  Hopefully, I'll be able to return here just before Halloween.

Hope to see you soon. I will miss you because I might need you for when it gets cold down here. :(

Now for my own side of things, we got our first cold front today (still cloudy now though), and boy was the rain coverage far different than what got said on both weather.com and my local news stations. :noexpression: <--- (sorry Ana, I had to use it :P)

Wow, I'm dealing with a lot of crap with the warranty on my laptop. For a week now (since last Thursday), it has not booted up properly, and when it does boot (after 5+ minutes of start-up time, and then the 10 minutes or so it takes to get past the login screen), it freezes and does not work. Sometimes it will work intermittently, and I have had to take advantage of those times to try and get files off of it. I used it to record TWC in Alpena, Bad Axe, the E.L. (22842), Grand Rapids, Novi, Romulus, Bay City, and St Ignace. So far, I have backed up all my Alpena, Bad Axe and Bay City recordings. Except for 1-3 files that won't transfer properly, I got all my E.L., Grand Rapids, and St Ignace recordings backed-up as well.

We called the Staples warranty and they informed us that the package (a box to send the laptop in back to the warranty along with a few other things) was shipped through UPS, and would have arrived on Wednesday. However, they could not find my address, even though we receive mail as normal and have received packages through UPS before. They sent a post card informing the recipient (us) even though they couldn't find my address.

Now the laptop freezes during the boot-up process. I allowed it to run a disk check, and it found several files that are unreadable.

Keep in mind, I bought this laptop brand new from Staples back in June, and got it the day after my birthday (the 11th).

I had a literal meltdown (hyperventilating; hot-headed, hostile attitude) on Wednesday nite, which caused me to stay home from school yesterday, and I got near having another one yesterday as well. It is amazing how much stress this laptop has brought to me.

So today my college and the club I'm in, The IVC Adventure Club, held it's 3rd annual Staff/Faculty vs Students softball game. For me, the game looked more like BASEBALL because 99.99% of the Students team were guys (yes I was the only female, but hey, I'm used to it). My Political Science professor and my former Astronomy professor participated at the Staff/Faculty team, and man, do they looooove to tease me.  I became Asst. Captain for the Students team. We were beating the Staff/Faculty BIG TIME throughout the first 5 innings, but with a home run made by a CIS professor, the score skyrocketed. We were down by 8, and it was impossible to get back on board. Final score was 14-6. BUT...I'm not too sad about that, the students and I will try harder next year.

Hope to see you soon. I will miss you because I might need you for when it gets cold down here. :(

Yeah, I can confirm that lol. I had to console him for hours that night until he went to get to sleep. I probably would have felt the same way though lol.

What is it with twc failing so much?!! The other day, the intellistar froze once , then yesterday trammell cuts in, when thats fixed, for some reason, the Satellite lf is shown for a split second, then to top it off, I decided to record wuwa, since I was just curious what they played this week (using Wintv's open scheduler) And 1. I saw a radar for a split second (photo attached) instead of the satellite lf 2. A play list song gets interrupted by some other one, then the biggest fail of all, during the show, a plain blue screen shows for a few seconds, then the show resumes, this was the 10am "encore".
Can Anyone say fail?
