There's one place near me where there's two Dairy Queens within a half-mile of each other.

Wow...that's very close!
There used to be two Starbucks like 3/4's of a mile close to each other in Calexico! One was next to Walmart, and another was at a small shopping center. The one at Walmart had to be shut down because supposedly the popularity and the customer satisfaction showed all. I also thought it was a bad idea to open a Starbucks right across the street from a previously opened Starbucks.

I apologize for changing the subject here, but does anyone know how to take screenshots of the computer (same idea as Hypercam but only still shots)? I tried HyperSnap and I can't use it without the license.

Hit the "Print Scrn" button on the keyboard and then open up a graphics editor, like MS Paint and hit Ctrl+V.

Yesterday, my Earth Science class had a Google Earth unit and we got to look at and play around with Google Earth the whole hour. I discovered that archived imagery was added. I cried when I saw my old neighborhood back in the 90's.

Here are some screenshots of the progression over the years (I've added a small red dot where my old house was located, and added arrows to the old farm house and the backhoe that destroyed the farm house there)

The final two shots are of another area near my old neighborhood with the sites highlighted

Wow neat! Can you see archived results on Google Earth for your area too?

Yep, I checked for my location in downtown Lansing as well, but the only changes I noticed were the lack of a Rite Aid across the street (checking 1994 imagery) and the parking lot (as opposed to the parking garage) at Sparrow Hospital a block up.

Same here, at least now. I always liked Bing Maps 3D better since the imagery for my area is in a higher resolution and is much more recent than is the case with Google Earth, but now I am really warming up to Google Earth.

Wow, we had our first fire drill today, and our school doesn't seem to use the alarms.

What didn't make sense about that? He simply said that his school had a fire drill but didn't use the alarms (which is awfuly odd, though.) Did someone announce the drill over the PA or something...they did that with our school once. It's really random, though, when you have the principal come on and shout "Everyone please evacuate immediately!"

Ahh, good times at my old high school at my hometown. There are *some* people that love to pull down the fire drill just for fun...and that the security guards come in to the classrooms randomly to see which fire alarm was pulled. Goooooood times.

What they usually do at my school is they will just pull it and you have to get out in under 2 minutes. What's odd is it sounds different in every part of the school, It sounds Like a dying duck in the 6th grade hall, slightly muffled in the 7th grade hall, and sounds like someone's blowing a loud whistle in the music room, overall there they are VERY Loud

Thats what I mean. Seems silly not to use the alarm. When there is a fire nobody is going to come on the intercom and say, Please evacuate the building for a fire. Best use the alarm (which also test the system itself)
