Honestly, schools have a better chance of students (and faculty) showing up with a delay than they otherwise would. It has nothing to do with if we win or not - just about everyone around here will stay up to watch the whole game.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
Quote
Superintendent Mark Roosevelt (Pittsburgh Public Schools) is no fan of delaying or canceling school even in bad weather, but he said there was no reason to ignore the Super Bowl's effect on school operations. Asked whether he feared student and staff absences, he said he hoped the delay would help mitigate any problem.

The district also opened two hours late on the day after the Steelers won Super Bowl XL three years ago.

Most schools in this neck of the woods have announced delays already for Monday due to the Superbowl. This includes Pittsburgh Public Schools (intercity schools), which may even end up canceling school because of the Downtown parade.

that's retarded.

I went to school on time and everything... My district could care less about a superbowl or a few inches of snow. Even if there was like 6 inches of snow and a 1/4" of ice, we still had school. They said education was more important than a football game. I applaud my district.

Agreed.  I don't think it is necessary to delay..or cancel school, because your city's team is in the Super Bowl.  Poor movement made by the school district, IMO.

I remember when the Ravens went to (and won) the Super Bowl in 2001. School wasn't delayed or cancelled, and as far as I could see there wasn't any big effect on attendance.

I hope the Cards intentionally run up the score.

Anyone noticed that CN8 is now just called the "Comcast Network?"

Yeah I noticed that. I wonder what prompted the change?

Question...if you block a user on YouTube, can they still see your videos?

Quote from: Wikipedia
The CN8 brand was discontinued in early 2009, as part of a larger restructuring of the network in order to respond to low ratings as well as closing down in the New England market, where its primary market was Boston.[1] The Philadelphia and Washington feeds have been split into separate networks solely branded as "The Comcast Network"[2], which will henceforth report to sister network Comcast SportsNet.[1][2]
Looks like we get the Philadelphia feed of the network, much like we get the Philadelphia feed of Comcast SportsNet...
