Really, is there a reason why they are doing it in the first place?

Ya, it seems all they are worrying about is the 2 million long waiting list for a DTV Converter coupon

What i don't get is it took this long for people to realize they should of not waited until the last minute to get a coupon/ticket

It has nothing to do with the people. What happened is that the government suddenly realized it had no more money left for the coupon program. It was a real "oh shit!" moment for our wonderful government.

Haha yeah. I really hope it doesn't get pushed up at all, I really want it to stay at what it is now. All it's going to do is confuse people, and some people might get on a jist that they're not going to do it.

My Grandma sent in for two coupons for her tv in the living room and in her bedroom, that was back in early December and they still haven't gotten here yet.

I will be super mad if they do switch it.  I was reading an article the other day in the paper, and one of the GM's of a station said that it would cost more money for the broadcasters to keep running the analog signal (maybe the analog and digital signal..) Idk..but I don't like the idea one bit.  It's been February 17th, 2009 for 3 1/2 (give or take a few months) years.  Why change it.  Just buy it.  If TV is SUCH a necessity for the person, then it'll be a good investment on their part.

My school is celebrating Inauguration Day by doing special political/presidential lessons that day. IMO, that's a terrible idea. Do they not realize that there are many people like myself who have no interest in politics, not to mention that final exams are also later that week? We should be studying for that, not some stupid presidential inauguration. It's not like a person with a different skin color is going to hugely impact our country (well, it shouldn't anyway).

I disagree with your first statement.  School is not about who is interested in what, so you'll have to get over that part.

I do, however, agree with the second part-to an extent.  I do believe that this is being all hyped up because it is Obama.  But, an inauguration isn't stupid.  It is a sign for hope and change (not just Obama, but with EVERY new president who wants to change the country).  And yes, finals are important, but what's one day?  Just my opinion though.

Technically they shouldn't be called finals because it's not the end of the school year. My school calls them Semester Exams. Wow Mike, why exams so late?

And what does everyone think about schools allowing you to watch the inauguration? I don't know if mine will let us or not. The teachers will probably complain that it will take up their class time. <_<

That's not a bad idea, if I was still in my World History class we probably would have watched it.
