You evidently didn't run those programs I mentioned correctly. Had you done that you would've been able to eliminate that trojan without having to take it to someone else.
I ran them correctly, and it found the trojan, but was unable to remove it.

That's when you quarantine the infected file. This way, you haven't removed the file, but its no longer infecting your PC.

Thunder, if I have to tell you one more time to quit doing my job I'll ban you. youhave no business telling my members to quit quoting.

Does anyone know how to remove Trojan.Vundo? I am so close to lighting my laptop on fire and tossing it out the window!
Did you run an Anti-virus program? Make sure you have the latest updates and definitions for it, too.
Oh yes, I've tried everything. It runs with my explorer.exe process. So if that's running, then I can't delete the main .dll file responsible. But of course, there's another .dll file, but it runs with the winlogon.exe process. And I'm sure you all would know what would happen if I ended that...

Do you keep missing my posts? Please, I beg you, read them and do as I say.  :whistling:
I read your post, I just have no idea how to quote two posts on this forum.

I took my laptop in yesterday, and they said that the virus is embedded so deep in my system files, that the only way to get rid of it is to reinstall windows.

That's hogwash. If you would've done what I said you'd be just fine.

BTW, you needn't quote everyone you want to reply to.  ;)
But I did do what you said. I tried so many antivirus/antispyware programs, it's not even funny. I even tried several programs that were specifically made to remove the virus, but nothing worked.

You evidently didn't run those programs I mentioned correctly. Had you done that you would've been able to eliminate that trojan without having to take it to someone else.
Well when you have a gazillion posts embedded then its sometimes hard to keep track what someone is saying the post in the post like what's happening now.

Also is there a risk of computer virus transmission for the New Year? There was a problem with Y2K earlier this decade.

I don't think Thunder is saying that quoting posts is bad, I think he's talking about multiple quote embedding, which is when you basically have "quote mountains" in posts, like in the post above mine. I personally find these quite annoying, when I post, if there's a bunch of quotes in a post I quote, I remove all of them except the one for the message I'm actually replying to, to avoid any "quote mountains".

Is this the actual playlist for January? If so, how on earth did you manage to get it BEFORE it even goes into use?

I don't care what Thunder meant. No member is EVER authorized to tell another member how to conduct themselves. Report the issue to us and we'll take care of it.  The report button on the bottom right side of each post isn't just there for decoration you know.  :whistling:

BTW, for the record, small post mountains are good because they allow a viewer to see how a conversation got where it did without having to look back over pages of posts.

That I'll agree with. Just the really long ones (like the one in Thunder's post) can be confusing and annoying to read for me.

I would REALLY doubt that this is the real one. They don't play that kind of music now, so why they would do it next month is beyond me.

That's obviously not the real playlist. If you look at the overnight playlist, you'll see two songs written by "Thunder". And if you know Thunder like I do, you'll recognize that those are all his favorite songs.

At first I couldn't tell, but now that I see those songs "written by Thunder", it's an obvious fake. ;)
