Guys especially Billy, THANK YOU SO MUCH. My tuner worked!

I connected a rather short coaxial cable ( <_< ) from the "Out to TV" port into the tuner. Then i opened the WinTV 2000 application and went to Menu/Suite Manager/Sources/Analog scan. I got "Cbl 3" scanned so i clicked on it.

I clicked Close and within an instant i got live DirecTV video!

I tried recording it at first but the record function crashed. So i reopened WinTV and did it again and it worked! When i finished recording i noticed it saves automatically when i hit stop?

I opened WMM, edited the video and saved it to my computer. The down side is that the .mpg files are LARGE.

AND, will I need to click the "scan" button each time I connect the tuner to my receiver.

Once again THANK YOU EVERYONE! I'm so happy!!! :thrilled:

Good to hear that it worked, Vic.

To make the files smaller, go into the options and choose this option:

That will greatly reduce the file size, and retain the quality.

After you click the "snap" button, double click the thumbnail and then go to the top of the window and click File > Save or something like that.

Would anyone like me to upload any primetime clips? It'll be on my filefront.

Billy, after I finish recording a clip, how can I record another one?

Like i want to exit out of the record tab and record another program.

Have you tried using the One Touch Record button labeled "OTR"?

No :P

I didn't record any clips last night because when I opened the WinTV 2000 application, it never loaded. I had to restart my computer <_<

So when using OTR, i can record one video, then record the next Lot8s without having to open/close the application each time?

And Billly, I did that same step you showed me to reduce file size and the recording is still large. When I record a standard 2 minute LF clip and import it to Movie Maker, it says the file is 44 MB. In addition, when I drag certain clips into the storyboard, it freezes and gives me a "Windows Movie Maker needs to close" error.
