Vic, your login time has to be over like... a month, at least!
On to another topic, as some of you might know I am a Meteorologist, how ever I do not currently work in the field. I will be starting forecasting from home shortly and hope to get back in to the Meteorology field sometime soon, but again I would like to start forecasting at home and get back on my game. My expertise is in the devlopment and tracking of severe weather.c
I have decided to build a peice of software to assist me in forecasting severe weather devlopment and have decided to put a live feed of the software online so you folks can see what I am doing. This peice of software was built by me and has taken about 4 weeks to make, and I am still in the process of adding features / de-bugging code daily. This program is similar to the ones you will see where they can click a storm and track its path, devlopement and such.
You can see the feed courtsey of Mogulus here:
Right now I am at work and the system is on at home I have it focused on IL as thats where most of the action is happening, but during normal circumstances it will rotate radars and satellites between active weather hot spots, other times I will be in control and you will be able to see me control it and focus and track systems...
I'm looking for a name for it, any ideas? I'm thinking "The KSMI Weatherlab" or something like that?
I am currently working out a deal with FOX in Chicago for them to use my feed in their weather center, for what I have no clue but they contacted me regarding it. I'll keep you posted. Let me know what you think!
