Disappointment day.

Yesterday was the "expected" introduction of TWC HD on Bright House in Central Florida.

But, as I should have expected, it didn't happen.

I called Bright House's programming department, asked about it, and, refusing to answer me, they hung up.

That's why they are ETA's ;) cable headends do that all the time with the incorrect projection of channel additions

Also, IIRC, the launch was for BHN Tampa Bay only
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

Well... now I'm disappointed.  I'd like to see the HD feed again.  :(

Ironically, as bad as Bright House is, it actually has more HD channels than Comcast in Massachusetts, and Bright House doesn't charge extra to receive them like Comcast does.  (Granted, the monthly rental of an HD cable box is slightly higher, but only slightly.)  However, as far as I can tell and my memory stretches, the only major HD channel that Bright House doesn't have that Comcast does is The Weather Channel.

It may not be long before all our favorite internet browsers have double-digit version numbers.  Internet Explorer 10 is coming out as a final release later this year, Firefox 10 was just released today, and Chrome 16 is currently in use.  Are we heading for triple-digit version numbers several years from now? :P

I would not be surprised to see Google Chrome 20 by the end of 2012, or at the latest the first two months of 2013.

In other news, our neighborhood has had a series of break-ins recently...at least, until today. About a half hour ago, about 4 cops tackled this guy on our front yard and arrested him on the spot (apparently he'd been on the run earlier). Turns out he was the one responsible for the break-ins, and also the guy I saw peeking into our living room window around 3 AM a week or two ago! Needless to say I'm relieved he's locked away.

Long Island, August-September 2012 tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Blizzard of 2013, how many places on Earth do you know can get all 3 of those events within a 6 month period?

Firefox copied off of Chrome and is still terribly slow so I ditched it. I still have Firefox 3 somewhere on here, but I've been using Chrome since last summer. Heck everything I use is from Google... Chrome, Android, Gtalk, Gmail, Voice, Google+... :P

We had a pervert neighbor that set up binox to peek in our house. Called the cops and he was "warned." I think if I saw anyone doing it again, I would show them the shotgun and .380 I have next to my bed.

I think that the browsers (except IE) will come out to be known as different names every 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 versions released - like the STAR units. IE is usually released every year or so.

I'm glad that situation has been resolved, Mac.  Seriously consider some deadbolts, motion lights, and a neighborhood watch system for the future if someone else wants to be an idiot and avoid the law.

Everyone is copying the rapid version number increases too much.  I don't think Firefox is so slow now.  Chrome may be faster overall, but I've run into sites where it wouldn't work.  Regardless, I think both are pretty close when I tried them head-to-head on my laptop.

No one can do anything about those rays you see at sunrise and sunset.  They always occur at every radar site and are not an easily filtered item as they change a little over the course of the year with the change in sun angle.  Furthermore, it only occurs on one image when the sun is at the horizon, so it's just not worth the trouble.

Facebook plans to file for $5 billion IPO. Predictions guess the company's valuation will stand between 85 and 100 billion.

Just saw a sign while watching The Herd with Colin Cowheard on ESPNews "Indy without Peyton Manning is like the Today Show without AL".
