i have to take SATs on May 1st and the ACT in June. Then SATs again in October of senior year and I'm not looking forward to it because I"m doing really bad on the math portions and scoring only 1200-1400 on the practice SAT tests

You know, I never realized how easy I apparently have it. The ACT is part of the MME, and that is what tomorrow will comprise of. The MME itself takes the first half of the day on Wednesday and Thursday as well.

Back in 2007 TWC and Dish Network sponsored a car in the NASCAR Busch (now called Nationwide) Series. The #26 car was driven by Todd Kleuver and raced at Chicagoland Speedway in July 2007.

I'm pretty sure they are referring to that, Derek. CA doesn't have them till late April-early May.
Right now it's the CAHSEE (CA High School Exit Exam). Man, that test was a pain in the  .

Ohh, is it the exit exam then?? I remember the CAHSEE. I didn't think it was thaaaaaaat bad. I did really well on that. Now I've got lots of nasty tests coming up. I got the SAT this Saturday, ACT next month, the subject tests next month, and the AP exams.

AP exams.... now those are hard. I never worried about standardized testing. Always found them way too easy. Not looking forward to my AP Language exam in particular out of my other AP classes. Not difficult just loooong and lots of writing.

ACTs are easier than SATs. I"m applying for an ACT prep course online and it helps.

I got a 1430 out of 2400 on my SATs the second time around... First time around was even worse... Talk about bad scores...

AP exams.... now those are hard. I never worried about standardized testing. Always found them way too easy. Not looking forward to my AP Language exam in particular out of my other AP classes. Not difficult just loooong and lots of writing.

Haha, same here. GPA would head south if I were to take an AP course or exam. However, you don't have to be taking an AP class to take an AP exam at my school... but why would I want to pay the $120?

Yes but when you're like me and have learning disabilities, there's no way you can keep up with the pace. That's why there's community college when you're not ready to move to a four-year college.

Anyway, we've had so many snow days (5) this year, the district made their decision today to shorten our 10-day spring break (April 2nd-11th) to just four days (April 2nd-5th). As much as I think having a week off from school just eight weeks before summer is ridiculous, I won't be surprised if half the school is going to be absent that week, as I know a lot of people who have plans to go on vacation that week (you can get excused absences if you send a parental note saying you're going on vacation that week). Also, if we get another snow day this year, the seniors have to go to school on SATURDAY June 19th for their last day (I'm assuming they graduate that same day as well), while the rest of us have our last day on Monday, June 21st. Pretty strange, huh?

I was lucky as my high school didn't even offer AP courses when I was a student, but a local college offered college-level English and History classes for seniors where the professors came to the school and taught.  I had two semesters of English and History during my senior year, which gave me 12 credits under my belt before I even started college.

It all depends on your own situation for deciding to pursue AP and college classes before you leave high school.  If you're going to a community college, then you probably don't need them as you'll use the two years to build up everything.  However, I would recommend getting something if you're heading straight to a four-year college as every little bit helps.
