The New Texas Giant at Six Flags
« on: June 26, 2011, 08:43:50 PM »
At Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington; the Texas Giant Roller Coaster is completely renovated. It was closed at the end of the 2009 season and it took all of last year to rebuild. But this year, the New Texas Giant reopens with a structure that uses recycled wood new steel tracks, and newer roller coaster cars making it a hybrid attraction. It is currently the tallest in the world at a height of 153 ft and it features a 79° drop of 147 ft (45 m), and turns banked up to 95°. Unlike its old predecessor, it's a much smoother ride...aside from the 79 degree drop. LOL!!

I've ridden on it 5 times so far. Although I wasn't able to get a rider's P.O.V. through my camera (because I didn't wanna take any chances with it), here are one of the videos I found on YouTube.

If y'all have the means, I highly recommend going there and trying it out.
