For all those interested, here's an article about me from the Valley News Dispatch from today (4/16) for getting a $500 scholarship for my digital art piece (Power of One). I also created posters for the art show.

Wish it would of made the Post-Gazette. :bleh:

Guys, awesome news. I went to the eye doctors today to take my final eye test, and it all turned out a-okay! I passed all my tests, and my eye doctor has finally scheduled my surgery around the first two weeks of May. I have to do it on a Friday so I am assuming May 8th or 15th (because I have every Friday off). There's a waiting list right now but my doctor says that by May 15 I will be glasses free. I am excited but nervous, but I don't have to because my BF has done it before and I take every word from him. ;)

Oh my God. I am so sorry to hear this, Gil and Evan. I hope everything is okay. My condolences go out to both of you two. *hugs 2 you both*

so, just received another college acceptance letter, angelo state -- it's suppose to be a great school, so awesome =]. i also got a sul ross state "acceptance" t-shirt in the mail too, haha.

i still can't believe it's practically over.  B)
Al, it will be over a lot faster than you think.
Since you got two acceptances from two colleges, it's gonna be hard to decide which is the one. My recommendation is that you must compare those schools very carefully. You're almost on your way! :)

I got my acceptence letter from a community college (no surprise :P)  So, I'll be going there.  I will hopefully not have to pay full tuition, because I have had two scholarship interviews worth some money, it is still pending if I get them though.  In 2011, I'll be transfering to a state University.

If I were in the top 10% of my class, I could go to this community college for free, but I am not  :pinch:

Good luck Kyle, I'm already in a community college for free because my mom work's in the Dental hygiene clinic at the school.

I noticed my NWS office now shows the winds for all 7 days of the zone forecast product now instead of just the next 48 or so hours. Has anyone else's office started doing this?

Same here. My first year is coming to an end. I do have plans to transfer to a university as well. By the end of Fall Semester 2009, I have to choose which college I am going to transfer to, and go see a transfer counselor to see which courses I have to take. CSU San Bernardino is my first choice, but on second thought, I am also thinking of going out of state.  :noexpression:

It also looks like they are combining dayparts on the county-based forecasts (i.e. "Thursday night and Friday"). I hope this doesn't affect how the 4000 emulator fetches the forecast data.

Right now, I still have the normal wind forecasts through day 3 from my local NWS office's 7-day zone forecasts.  Perhaps your office is doing some experimenting.  As long as NWS doesn't start issuing something like hourly forecasts out to day 15, which AccuWeather has been trying horribly as I feel forecasting days 8-15 by the hour is almost a random guessing game at times, then it's fine with me. Forecasting beyond tomorrow is a guessing game for them.  :P
