We unplugged it from the phone jack. But still, I think the phone is about 10 ft away from the modem, so I don't know.
Oh, and to add to that, back in January when we first got the Wireless modem, we had no problems, and the phone was at the exact same spot as it is now.

That kind of problem usually isn't automatic. It usually develops and worsens over time.

Yeah, but why would it suddenly start with the new modem?

I'm confused.I thought you just got the new modem the other day because you were having the same problem with the old one?

Yeah. With the old modem, it didn't start this problem until earlier this month. With the new modem we hooked up, it started the problem about an hour after we hooked it up.

There is this person out of the area (somewhere in east central PA) who has been calling my dad's home phone several times in the past few days, including three times early this morning, twice at 3AM and again near 6AM. The last time he called was about a half-hour ago and my dad answered it and it was some guy with a Russian accent who didn't seem to understand English. He told the guy he got the wrong number, then he called once again shortly thereafter. He hasn't called since, though.

I hate it when people call me in the middle of the night. :glare:

Does anyone know how I can block someone from calling me? My dad has Comcast phone service and he is already signed up for the "do not call" list, if that helps.

I was just encoding some TWC videos of the Severe Thunderstorm Warning we had last evening, and look at this:

Yah, one of my mom's friends calls at like 7:00 AM, and usually no one is awake then, so the phone wakes everyone up. I almost
feel like blocking her number...

Umm...take your phone off the hook? Seriously, you can't stop people from dialing wrong numbers.

No, just all the foreigners on the road with no licenses and don't know how to drive really pose a threat to lives.

Seems to me that the foreigners don't pose any more risk than any American driver-even licensensed ones.
