Well, this morning was a wild weather morning, that's for sure. A couple of minutes before I headed to school this morning, our area was issued a Tornado Warning, due to a tornadic thunderstorm heading towards us from the Gulf (possibly from Gustav's remnants). The area where I live was actually in the path from this storm, which rarely happens. Then, a few minutes after I got on the bus, we got a torrential downpour, and the wind blew like crazy.
I heard on the bus radio (not the music radio, but the radio that the drivers use to contact with) that several drivers reported funnel clouds throughout the area. Once I got to school, I saw what was very likely the tornadic part of the thunderstorm, I saw what looked like a wall cloud. I didn't see any funnel though, but since it wasn't really close (it was only close enough to see it) it could've very well been rain wrapped. In any case though, this would be my first time ever seeing anything close to a tornado in person.
And to top all that off, about 30 minutes before my 1st period class ended, we had to take cover in the hallway due to another Tornado Warning. We sat out there for approximately 2 hours, and we missed the 2nd and 3rd period classes because of that.
Well, I guess that concludes my story of the day...
