The thing is the cable i'm using is straight from the wall. I'm connecting that cable to my tuner. Otherwise that cable is screwed to the receiver. I'm connecting it to to the tuner but nothing is playing. (this will work too?)

I went to Menu/Suite Manager/Sources.

Would DirecTV pop up and when i click on it will it show the channel currently on my receiver?

Okay, this is now making a little bit of sense.

You cannot get a signal directly from your dish to your tuner.  It needs to be run through the box first.  Use the out to TV connection to connect your tuner box (from DirecTv) to your tuner.  The tuner will need to be set on channel 3, and you will change the channel with the tuner box (from DirecTv).

Got a digital camera?  Take a pic of the BACK of the DirecTv box and your tuner.

I'm don't have a camera. I have a camcorder but don't know how to transfer pics from it.

There are two areas in the back of the receiver that matches ya'lls description, "Out to TV" and "S-Video Out".

The s-video out is a large circle while the "Out to TV" has the same exact round end as the tuner. My coaxial doesn't fit into the tuner.

My coax cable is a Coaxial Cable 3C-2V.

I wanted to record from the tuner a few LF's, TPIR opener, WCAU 10 Opener and a small segment on WPVI on the weather.

But the coax is a bit big for the tuner and receiver's outputs. I just simply "plug" the cable into both the tuner and the receiver.

You might have a CB antenna cable, and not a coaxial cable :P

Anyone else notice Tylers profile box?

Last time I checked, the verb "to can" isn't use in a method of relying on news coverage. :P
