I guess so.

Anywho, my parents' friends were over tonight. I'm exhausted now.

Hey, Gil, how do you get the speed so high?  I'm looking at the Comcast site, and it says a maximum of 6 mbps? :)

Well according to the Speakeasy Internet Speed test, I get around 18-22 MBPS Down.

Show us a screenshot of your test results. I don't buy this for a second.

Its not ALWAYS 22MBPS. It all varies with usage of other people in the neighborhood. but more often than not, its
up there.

Well i just did one.

Download Speed: 11943 kbps (1492.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1604 kbps (200.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Its lower than before. But like  i said, its all depending on the useage of the neighborhood.

Well then here's why your speeds are so high: you live in a very sparsley populated area (which coincedentally would also explain why you can't get DSL). In any even mildly populated area there would be enough other users to cap your speed at a max of 6Mpbs or so.

LOL. I can tell you right now that i live in nowhere near a sparsely populated area! Its quite the opposite. The only ones on my
particular "internet block", however, would be about 6 other houses. So I guess I'm lucky.

Yes, you are very lucky. Most "internet bocks" as you put it consist of anywhere from 15-20 or more residences.

No, they are quite small around here. They have smaller internet blocks, but they have more blocks.

Alright, I've now installed the splitter on the phone jack where the DSL modem plugs in. Hopefully things go better this time.

Let me rephrase what I said. The AVERAGE internet block has 15-20 or more residences. Yours obviously are not average.
