Im thinking of getting Dial-Up internet jsut to hear "The Modem Noise"

Depends on what company. With some its still going for as much as $25 a month. Either way, its money I'd rather spend on something else.

Yep it is a ripoff. The company that charges that $20 or $25 a month is AOL, and its a wonder they have any business at all. The folks that stay with them must either not have access to DSL, or just don't know how badly their being ripped off.

When I had AOL, I called to cancel, and they lowered my monthly bill from $25 to $13.99 a month LOL. Then when I upgraded to AOL Highspeed, I remembered how I got lucky the last time, so I called to cancel and the lowered my price again! Then I actually got smart and dumped AOL together for Verizon DSL - and then I got even smarter and upgraded to Verizon FiOS. :P

The folks at AOL must be clueless. :rolleyes:
