I survived the Internet Blackout of 2014! Man, that was the longest, nightmarish, and most major inconvenience of no internet access in my house that lasted a week for me.
It all started back on Tuesday last week when I did the most stupidest, idiotic thing I could have possibly done...I re-installed Windows 7 from my Windows 7 CD I got with my desktop 3 1/2 years ago, hoping and thinking I could get things restored back to the factory settings.
Boy, was I wrong! I only made a bad situation worse. I lost everything (well most of the programs/files were still in the OS drive labeled as "windows.old") The problem with that is I ended up deciding it was best to delete that entire file anyway through the Disk Clean up program tonight and just start off on a clean slate. Plus I freed up over 200 GB of space, so I'm back up to around 835 GB out of 1 TB.
Long story short, you don't realize how excited I am to have internet access again. It's been a rough week, going to the library to submit an online assignment that was due in the midst of this madness, making phone calls tech support, re-installing the drivers/utilities on my PC again, and getting a new DSL modem which I needed anyway. The one I have still works, but it's super old, like March 2005 old.
