You could try using any video converter to change the asf to avi.

I agree with Alex, I use AVC often to convert video/audio files, rip audio from video files and to convert videos from 640x480 to 1920x1080.

Yeah, AVC is a great tool to use for video conversions  However, in any video conversion, there will always be some form of quality loss, even at the slightest level, so be sure that the bit rate settings are good enough to ensure there isn't quality loss alongside proper aspect ratio

You all certainly know way more about videos and file types than I ever will.  I had never even heard of that video converter.

For those who lived in the New York area, I had no idea Sue Simmons' final day on air was last Friday. I had heard about her contract not being renewed due to her $5 million salary back in March, but Scarborough makes a similiar amount (according to several news sites) o I don't see why NBC would can her solely on salary. Either way it's really sad. She and Chuck had been on air on WNBC for over 32 years. Simmons had talent that no other anchor could replicate. She was classy, professional, unpredictable, dangerous, knowledgeable all at the same time. I see now Shiba Russell has taken over her spot on the 11pm newscast. I like Russell but she's no replacement for Simmons. New York has lost a true talent. It is my hope that another news station will pick her up soon as it was not a voluntary decision to leave the network.

And yes, we all know about the on air slipup 4 years ago. That still hasn't stopped loyal viewers from tuning in.  WNBC is the only channel I watch for the news when I go to New York every other week so I guess its more time for Shiba then. :D

This is just another example of NBC at its finest.

NBC seems desperate to attract the lowest-paid (and, hence, lowest-qualified) talent available.  It's sad - total destruction is what they want, apparently.

I never lived in New York City, but even I know who Sue Simmons is.  It will be sad that she won't be anchoring the news anymore - it seemed like she always did a good job.  (And gave a gracious apology for her on-air slip-up.)

Sue Simmons was a great news anchor for WNBC, no doubt. Though I never really watched NBC when she was on, she is known for her mistakes, though they may be only minor, they add up. I was surprised when I found out that she was leaving. Unfortunately, that's the way the business is run nowadays.

Broadcasting in any network is like what you see here.  It's not just NBC.  Everything is about ratings, which is why you see larger turnovers in the workforce within this sector compared to all other fields of work.

Is it sad that this YouTube video is how I know about Sue Simmons? :fear:

You're not alone, I wouldn't know who she was either if it wasn't for that slipup.

LOL at the cruise ship. Didn't know Carnival Lines was known for cursing  But in all seriousness, at least she apologized. And that wasn't the first time a news anchor in NY cursed. Back in March 2005, Arthur Chien of WCBS was fired for dropping the f-bomb behind two streakers at a subway entrance where he was reporting. Fortunately, WPIX picked him up immediately after.

Victor, I think something happened in the studio that got her upset.  It certainly wasn't the cruise ship itself.  At least she took the initiative to sincerely apologize.
