Condolences to you, Martin. It looks like she had a long and fulfilling life, living to be 98. Not a whole of people live to that age.

Sorry for my absence folks. When I arrived back from Europe my grandmother became critically ill. She passed away yesterday and I have been getting her estate in order. She lived to be 98 which is amazing but I wish her last few days had not been as painful and unpleasant as they were. While her body was quite active she was unconscious for much of the time so I hope the discomfort was minimal. This makes me the last remaining Cornick which is a bit of a bummer to think about. :(
Martin, very sorry to hear about your loss. Very lucky she made it to 98 years, no one in my immediate family has been able to make it that far yet at least since I was born. Best of luck to you as I know things have been a roller coaster ride for you all the last few years. Also glad to hear you had a great time in your European tour, I enjoyed those scenic pictures you posted on Facebook

Sorry to hear about your loss Martin :( I remember how hard it was for my grandma, me and my family when my granddad died. He had gotten more ill weeks before he died. My thoughts, prayers and a hug are with you.

I'm sorry for your loss Martin :( I lost my grandmother when she was 98 2 years ago and it was tough for the  last few weeks following her death. At least we can cherish the good moments in her life

Sad to hear that, Martin :( My grandmother is currently battling breast cancer right now. She goes into surgery tomorrow I believe. So I can feel your pain (to some extent. As heart breaking as cancer is, I can't imagine how it would feel to have someone pass on). I wish you the best, Martin!

It's about time NOAA will set this up.

Craig, just as a courtesy, I modified your post to fix the link you provided; it wasn't working for me earlier, but I think I fixed it now.  Thanks for providing this.

Folks, this is just a reminder that if you're posting a lot in the game room that you need to also post elsewhere in the forum as well.  The limit rule is still there, and a couple of you got close to it last night.  What in the world happened to have the "Which Would You Prefer?" game suddenly get 34 posts in 3 1/2 hours?

I'm glad I didn't post in there last night either.

I've been working on my weather station lately. The current place where it is right now is the best spot where it could be. Unfortunately, the early morning summer sun shines on my thermo-hydrometer. I would typically see large spikes in temperature and humidity between 6:27 - 7:28AM. So to prevent this, I simply put a piece of cardboard with one side being white, I put the white side towards the sun, and I put the cardboard on the unit. Well, this morning with clear skies, it worked, but temperatures were higher by about 1.5°F, an improvement from before, but still inaccurate. I have the cardboard on the thermo-hydrometer. Maybe if I set the cardboard a few inches off of the unit, there might be less of a spike in temperature.  :dunno:
