Oh, no!!  I'm sorry.

An ice dam in the attic after one horrible snowstorm caused a similar problem with me.  I opened my bedroom door one day to find water pouring all over my desk.  Fortunately, my computer wasn't on it, and, actually, hardly anything else was, either, so nothing got damaged.  Still, it ruined the wallpaper, left stains all over the ceiling, and gave me quite a lot of cleaning up to do.

I had nothing backed up though. I had saved the rest of my twc clips for upload later on but they were in my laptops hardsrive as well my songs and photos. Do you know if they could reimburse me or something for water damage. I'm not sure if there are other methods I can use to restore my laptop back

I would assume that the hard drive is safe, if you remove it...

Ok, good news: I got my laptop back in working condition again. The only problem is the adapter also got wet and now the adapter doesn't charge my laptop. The power light goes on for 10 seconds then dissipates and they don't have any more adapters for my speCific brand. The battery on my laptop drained out but at least it's working again..

Just survived the worst power outage of my life. Took the trolley to school today instead of driving, ended up getting stuck at the station for 2-3 hours with very limited cellphone service. Peanut butter sandwiches were for dinner tonight, since there was nothing to heat up. Good thing about this is that my school cancelled classes for Friday (sucks because I wanted to see the ending of Tron Legacy! >_<)

Speaking of Tron Legacy, I am now listening to End of Line. Haha!

What was the outage associated with? I never could find out from anybody.

It's forecasts like mine that make me wish the Pot Belly Stove will reopen soon  :bleh:. Monday, we hit a high of 74 and reach a low of 49. Tuesday, our high reaches only 59, and our low sits at 37. Things should only get colder from there.

...and it's forecasts like mine that make me wish the Front Porch would stay open (hopefully the porch has a ceiling fan). :P Temperatures will only get hotter through next week, and triple-digits may make the return on Tuesday.

Some worker in AZ short-circuited the power and made the whole region (let alone most of AZ and SoCal) go dark.

Is college supposed to be this hard? I'm failing 2 classes right now, and English might be a 3rd (nothing was graded yet), but the material is very difficult for me.

Well, college is certainly a ramp up from high school, that's for sure. I guess it's a question of time management. I'm finding out it IS true that you have two hours of homework for every hour of class.

Do you know why you're having a difficult time with these classes?  Nip the problem in the bud before it starts to spiral out of control.  It's still very early in the semester, so you should still have a chance to correct the issue before it goes even further.  Set up appointments with your professors or teachers to discuss whatever problems you're having.  They might be able to help you figure out where you need to refocus your energies so that you can be successful in the classes.  The amount of coursework and homework, as well as the difficulty, is considerably more than in high school, and so you might need to "retrain" yourself to be a more efficient studier.

Are you having problems remembering facts?  Are you having problems comprehending the material from the beginning?

I'm not sure. It could be that I'm not used to such a heavy courseload, and that I'm not used to studying/learning the material more in-depth
