How's everyone doing this Labor Day weekend?  Hope all of you had a great summer vacation and have a great start to college or school.

Not very well I'm afraid, I'm trying to get over a cold at the moment.  :(

You too? I'm not alone! I got a cold on Friday, now all thats left is a little congestion and a scratchy throat.

Yeah, my scratchy throat is clearing up, but my runny, stuffy nose will not go away.

I honestly don't get why people get some sort of a cold or flu during the summer (where temps are warm, or in my terms, HOT)? I hardly get sick every summer, except for allergies. Winter is the only season where I get sick with the cold/flu.

Summer doesn't seem like the time of year when you'd get sick, but that's actually when I get sick the most often. I always seem to have the misfortune of being around sick people by the time classes roll around again. Being sick in the heat is no fun.

Winter months are usually prone to higher rates of sickness because everyone is always inside and usually in closed spaces. Summertime, people are usually out more. So while the environment for the germs and bugs are better in the summer, more people are directly affected in the cooler months. Its really interesting when you think about it. I am sorry to hear you all are sick on this lovely holiday weekend. I hope you feel better soon :(

Labor Day is my LEAST favorite holiday... I start school in two days. :( At least I'm only at school from about 7am-12pm this year however.

Sorry to hear that some of you all are sick now.  Some things can still go around even during the summer.  At least you all get to enjoy a day off today.  I have to work this morning!  My family is coming later today for my next two days off, so I'll be able to relax afterward.

Try not to think too hard and get stressed out during the first days, Mike.  You'll be fine.

I got a couple paper routes a few weeks ago... The only thing I hate about it is waking up TOO early Sat/Sun, and also this morning.

So it's official.. I've made a goal. By the end of next summer, my goal is to have enough money to get a Mustang! Don't know what year, but I'm interested in 2003-2005 ones.. I looked at some on Craigslist and autotraders, and there are some good ones for sale between $6,000 and $10,000 that are years 2003-05 and only have between 50,000 miles and 80,000 miles on them in my area! :)

Yeah, it's a good job to do for early teens. The ones you need for a car are the routes in the country, where the houses are hundreds of yards apart. Another driving route is delivering the bundles of papers to the carriers. (That pays about 1,800/month) My routes pay about $200 a month and have around 45 customers total.

Yesterday our NBC affiliate WXIA-TV debuted a new weather product called the "W.I.Z" (Weather Information Zone) where viewers can rate the weather and other stuff online or on their phones. They ran promos for weeks that were saying, "Soon, Your Days Will Be Numbered." Did any other NBC affiliates associated w/ Gannett get some kind of product like this?  :dunno:
