Yep. A cord was hanging out of the socket, but was in the socket enough to get an electrical charge. Sadly, the outlet was behind a long curtain, which over time, cued a spark from the exposed prongs, starting a fire. Even more sadly, no one was home, and no one would be home for the next 3 hours, leaving the family dog to burn.

I feel bad for the poor dog as that sounds like it could have all been prevented with a little more electrical safety and care on the part of the owners.
I just tried out RockBand for the first time today during my visit to my sister's house. It's addicting. I'm better at singing than the drums. lol
Oh my Goodness, my neighbor's house just burnt to the ground. They lost everything, even the family dog.
I just got back from the craziest NWS shift that the Blacksburg office staff can remember in a long while. A huge line of storms crossed the area, which prompted the office to issue 43 warnings in just 8 hours! I had to help verify several of those warnings, so I'm whipped right now.
Is everyone having a good weekend and start to August so far?
You guys might remember that I posted an episode of one of my scripted stories here that was based on TWC fan fiction. Well here's a recent episode I been working on the past few weeks called "High Anxiety".Synopsis: Jason and Melody are preparing to take a statewide test that will determine whether or not they can be promoted to high school or not, Dean and Ana are taking the pre-test which mounts the pressure on when they have Jason help tutor them. Meanwhile Daniel is having problems facing his physiological fear of riding a bike until Kara offers to train him before a company Bike-A-Thon he suggested to his boss Mr. Beamington.

It was really good at first until yesterday came. I got my blood test results back. I'm good, but I have to deal with something in the next 6 months or so. I don't really want to explain it in full till I return from a camping trip tomorrow.
