<333 the one on the bottom. :) I might use it as my next desktop background (of course, credit will be given).

and HOLY CRAP. I just got back from hanging out with a best friend of mine to rent out a video game, and I am shocked to hear that my nearest Hollywood Video is closing this July. Because not only the company filed for bankruptcy, but the whole "online renting" frenzy has impact them drastically. Now I feel that sooner or later, the only way to rent movies and video games is online. Great. I need to start thinking of making a subscription to Netflix or GameFly. <_<

On another note, has anyone ever used Netflix? I've gotten mixed reviews.

Netflix is pretty good. A lot of the Blockbuster Videos and Hollywood Videos have closed here. Everyone I know uses services like Netflix and OnDemand these days.

Got an internship for the summer! I'll be working for the York County Rail Trail Authority.

Sweet!  Sounds like a great opportunity! Have fun with it.

@LocalOnThe8s:  Don't get down and out about not having a job.  Keep your head high.  You're young, you've got plenty of time to find work.  Be persistent.

I am thinking of applying for a 2nd part time job this summer at a local pool.

Thought I would post some of the pics of the lightning I got yesterday!

AMAZING photos, Martin!  I like the bottum one.

Ana:  Here is a funny story about the Hollywood Video up the street from my house.  Used to be the popular place to go 10 years ago.  It's a nice big building.  I want to say 4 years ago, Part of the building was sold to a company called "Game Crazy" which was pretty much a game rental place.  Then, 2 years ago, another part of it was sold to Hungry Hobo.  Now, bye-bye Hollywood video.  The whole building still has the Hollywood Video look to it, so I wonder how that's going to be fixed..

I absolutely LOVE Netflix. I've been a member for a few months now and have had no problems. Twice I got a bad DVD but you just report it on their site and you have a replacement the next day. Right now I'm getting all the seasons of Scrubs since it took me till about season 7 to start watching, then I have Friends coming after that. Plus the instant streaming is awesome although they don't have the best selection there.

Thanks everyone for your reviews! I can see it's definitely worth getting an online subscription. Guess I'm a bit behind on the future. lol Hopefully soon, I'll get into online renting... and I'll encourage my friend to get one, too.

And going back to the job topic... I really really need to get one for this summer. My mom is like "I DON'T WANT YOU TO BE LAZY THIS SUMMER." It turns out I decided I won't be going this summer because the school is not offering a lot of classes. I'm considering getting an online class, but there aren't many good ones. I re-applied at the Bookstore, and applied for one another. Last year I was very close to getting the position at the Bookstore (not the one @ IVC), but my eye surgery got in the way, so I had to turn it down. Let's hope I have more luck this year.

So on Wednesday, I found the portable hard drive I bought back on Black Friday strangely in my school backpack. I was carrying it to and from school for months, and never noticed it somehow. Nonetheless, I thought I would give it a whirl and see if I could steal some files off of it. Sure enough, I hooked it up to my desktop and it worked! It only worked for 10 minutes, but I was able to get all of my Petoskey clips from Halloween back, in addition to some of my St Ignace clips. For some reason, I couldn't find any Bay City clips on it. After the loss of that hard drive, I had to convert the videos I had on youtube both to a WMV and an MP3 through zamzar. Then I had to download them, and then put the clips in WMM. Following that, I had to mute the WMV clip and add in the mp3 (when you compress a WMV down to 20 MB, the audio is awful).

So as I was watching a clip of an incredibly depressing song from Halloween, it occurred to me that I was up in Petoskey instead of trick-or-treating. Seems like just last year that I thought the time when I would be to old to do it was way off in the distance. This whole year, the whole "time advancement" concept has really gotten to me.

Also, here's a pic I took of lightning back on June 8th, 2008. All afternoon on the 7th and into that night, we had constant (and I do mean constant) lightning, that was actually quite low in the sky. It was freaky to walk out on my deck and have the lightning flashing just a couple thousand feet above my head.

Nice pic Aaron!

Thanks Martin! I should probably mention that's not a live picture. I actually held the door to my deck open and pointed my camera at the sky for 5 minutes in video mode. I had to take that picture off my desktop monitor.

Anyways, I mentioned I got my portable hard drive working for a few minutes on Wednesday. Here's one of the videos I got back. VERY depressing song, but yet, I love the emotion in it. Anyone have any idears as to what it could be? It was one of the Halloween songs TWC aired back on Halloween. It's a WMG song, so it is muted when I upload it to youtube.
