So on Wednesday, I found the portable hard drive I bought back on Black Friday strangely in my school backpack. I was carrying it to and from school for months, and never noticed it somehow. Nonetheless, I thought I would give it a whirl and see if I could steal some files off of it. Sure enough, I hooked it up to my desktop and it worked! It only worked for 10 minutes, but I was able to get all of my Petoskey clips from Halloween back, in addition to some of my St Ignace clips. For some reason, I couldn't find any Bay City clips on it. After the loss of that hard drive, I had to convert the videos I had on youtube both to a WMV and an MP3 through zamzar. Then I had to download them, and then put the clips in WMM. Following that, I had to mute the WMV clip and add in the mp3 (when you compress a WMV down to 20 MB, the audio is awful).
So as I was watching a clip of an incredibly depressing song from Halloween, it occurred to me that I was up in Petoskey instead of trick-or-treating. Seems like just last year that I thought the time when I would be to old to do it was way off in the distance. This whole year, the whole "time advancement" concept has really gotten to me.
Also, here's a pic I took of lightning back on June 8th, 2008. All afternoon on the 7th and into that night, we had constant (and I do mean constant) lightning, that was actually quite low in the sky. It was freaky to walk out on my deck and have the lightning flashing just a couple thousand feet above my head.
