I don't really mind meaningful homework all that much. What really gets me is when it's just work assigned to keep you busy. Like coloring a map or doing a wordsearch. It's such a waste of time.

I'm not that good at presenting stuff in front of everyone either. I know it's to be expected a lot in college, though, so I should probably practice more on that.

and it only gets worse in college...a lot of people at ASU have a crap load of homework from just the first two days, I've been lucky...thus far--i expect it to change tomorrow.

I took a speech class in high school, and it helped me a lot.  I love talking in front of people now.

According to all of my classes' syllabuses, an oral presentation is REQUIRED or you will fail. meh...wish me luck with that

I know public speaking can seem intimidating or pointless at times during high school and college, but it's a vital skill to have in life.  Lots of jobs require you to be proficient in communicating your ideas to other people.  I had to do six presentations of my research just to get my Master's degree, and one of those presentations was in front of 300 people in a major conference.  I will likely have to continue giving presentations or lead map discussions in whatever job I acquire.
