For those of you who like smooth jazz, here's a really good indie jazz station (they play a LOT of TWC music like Chris Geith, Mark Barrios, Brian hughes, Richard Smith, Justin Young, etc..) that you should listen to. It's .the wav Chesapeake Bay. http://www.loudcity.com/stations/the-wav-smooth-jazz/tune_in

In fact, they played Run to You by Ryan Farish 5 mins ago.
Wow, they're playing Trammell Starks now! :o

You see. :)

I heard "Good Day" by Voodoo Village from Sept 08 not too long ago from that station.

The annual back-to-school ads have begun. When I saw YWT on the XL stream, there was a Wal-Mart back-to-school commercial.

They typically begin 1 month before school starts for some.

This school year will start a few days earlier than previous years', so those commercials won't bother me that much.

Well, yeah, but the full-fledged IN YOUR FACE Christmas trees in every aisle, snowflakes everywhere, and TOYS TOYS TOYS won't hit for a month or so.

I did read that Sears stores are already putting up Christmas trees in their stores, though...

In my area, Labor Day is a big deal, so X-Mas stuff gets pushed back a little bit longer.  I'll also have to listen for the go date for Wal-Mart's Christmas changeover...last year it hit about Oct. 10...

I shop for back-to-school a couple of days before school starts, and I don't complain about prices.  I say I'd spend about $150 for pens, notebooks, etc. This year, I might not be spending too much. I have so much paper and other supplies left over from last year.

$150 for school supplies? Are you buying in bulk and selling them to other kids in school?

$150 seems too high of an estimate. I had to buy a graphing calculator one year, and that was about $100.

I spend too much every year, and I'm left with extra pens, binders, and everything else. This year, I might just buy a one-subject notebook and a few odds and ends.

We usually do our back to school shopping at Staples (the same store over there at Frandor where I take my computers to be serviced). I hate Walmart. Their advertising is SO annoying. I just mute the TV whenever a commercial comes on (at least 5-6 times an hour, on TWC alone).

Staples or Office Depot is where I go for my school supplies. I always wait to shop until a few days after the first day so I know exactly what I need. I don't even get my schedule until the first day (talk about inconvenience).
