Well I'm off to another sleepless night. Do you think the weather can be part of sleeping issues?
I tend to not sleep as good during hot and humid weather. I sleep more during the afternoons and less at night.
I too have the exact same problem. When I know something big is going to happen with the weather (snow, heavy rain, extreme cold, extreme heat, you get the picture) I will not get much sleep. In fact, back during the 07-08 Winter Season, I was up all night at least 4 times when we got big snows.
I also get more sleep during the day and am up late at night.
I like hot and humid weather though. Even though I have a problem with bats, I like to keep the window open and back door window open (with screens of course) and listen to cars drive by. Lazy nights like that, along with severe weather and extreme heat, are summer to me
That stinks. If it's hot I can't sleep at all. Storms and rain actually help me fall asleep despite the noise.
Sometimes they do for me, other times not. One time in 2006 a heavy thunderstorm rolled in around 2AM, waking me up. I couldn't fall back asleep. It was a weeknight too, so I only got 3-4 hours of sleep.
When I know there is a chance for overnight thunderstorms, I leave the window open on my back door (to my deck which is right next to my room
). I usually do not sleep through thunderstorms, though I do find it relaxing to listen to a gentle thunderstorm with moderate rainfall (that leads to the sound of water draining from eave-troughs (give me a break, I have never had to spell that before)). I love thunderstorms, and the excitement they bring to me
