You wanna know the fastest way to piss me off?

Say that I'm receiving $38 in overpayment then suddenly take that away and make me pay $59.

That'll do it :D.

What's worse?  Owing about $340 combined to the State of Illinois and the Federal Government this year.  Lovely, just lovely

Well...I got back a whole whoppin $30 Fed and State combined.

Interesting, we just had a CFL burn out in my kitchen stove light, and it's only been installed since November of last year. I don't think it's the bulb that went out, though, since when it went out, we messed with it and it came back on for a few seconds, and then went back off. I'm guessing the ballast failed or overheated in this case.

Gil, this was just one bulb that failed. I have several others in my house that have been running for about 1 and 1/2 years (and are still running).

that's swell, but still. I haven't had a regular bulb ever do anything like that. And, I can't justify paying a lot of money for CFL bulbs. I will ALWAYS use incandescents.

NO! GRRRRR. I mean, I haven't had a regular bulb act weird like that. No balasts or overheating with incandescents. Sounds like CFL's are plagued with bugs.

Stop with the attitude, please. <_<

Funny how you should mention "plagued with bugs", because the bulb was, literally, plagued with bugs. :P This bulb was installed over our kitchen stove, and it had TONS of dead flies on it.

Why do you have bugs in your house? Regardless, I'm still highly opposed to CFL bulbs. I've never had a problem with incandescents, theres absolutely NO reason for me to stop using them. Besides, CFL's contain mercury. Poisonous.

I don't. Just the ones that manage to get in my house are attracted to light bulbs for some reason, both incandescent and compact fluorescent.

That's common. It's frequently associated with admin-only tasks too like locking a topic, warning members, deleting threads, etc.
