I'm gonna be going up to Davenport today to visit a friend. I'm hoping there's another STAR up there, so I'm bringing my camera. That would be the ultimate birthday present. :thrilled:

If you capture a clip, be sure to hook up the camera to the cable box and transfer it here :D

What the? Why would he hook his camera up to his cable box? How would he do that? And how would he get the image off the camera on to the cable box? And how would he get the image off the cable box? And how would he then get it on here?

I should've mentioned camcorder, not camera. He could  connect the camcorder to the cable box Via S-video output. It's easy pretty much all camcorders come with an S-video cable. Then since I'm sure he has a USB cable, he can transfer the recording here. As for images, I don't know what you mean by that.

the S-Video on the cameras are output, not input.

And why would he be inputting it in to the cable box?

Usually as soon as you plug in the cable from the camcorder to the cable box, whatever is playing on TV will usually play on the camcorder too.  That's how you get the video and you record the video whenever you want to. Then you'd take out the cable from the cable box. It worked for me. It also worked for "shaneomac1986" who has the Weatherstar 4000 in Florida. As far as VCRs, I'm sure it's similar but I never tried it with the VCR.

The way you said that was all backwards... You made it sound like he is recording something with a video camera, then plugging the cameras output in to the cable box's input.

But I know what you mean, Cable box's video output in to the cameras input then put the cameras recording on the computer. I used to do that before I got my tuner, and it will work with a VCR, FYI. :)

Yeah I was not sure. So it's Input, output either way :P

Davenport, IA?  If so, there is not a different STAR, just the Intellistar.

No I'm sure he means Davenport, California. It's not far from where he lives. That town has only 200 people so it's possible that they might have another star.

Yeah, Davenport, CA. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to record their LF. Heck, I didn't even get to see it. :( I know that they don't have comcast or dish. It's some sort of local cable company. I can't remember the name.

How come whenever I make a complete stop at a stop sign, people always honk their horns at me?
