Title: The CW Network Slowly Fading Out?
Post by: texasstooge on June 28, 2008, 02:42:41 PM
Is it me? Is the current CW affiliate in Dallas/Fort Worth (KDAF-TV) changing networks? Or is the CW network slowly fading out after almost 2 years?

Since June 23rd, I couldn't help but noticing their latest commercials ended with the announcer saying "KDAF 33" instead of "CW33"...however, the 'CW33' branding is kept.

Smackdown started out there, so actually CW is losing something that it never had until recently anyway.  ;)

KDAF is just going through a rebrand, and trying to identify itself as a more local channel (hence the use of call letters in the brand vs. the network name [CW]). Also, there are vicious rumors going around that the CW may soon cease to exist. This affiliate may be preparing for such a time. There is no certain answer right now...

I'm wondering if other CW affiliates are following suit.

The CW was never good, mergers always kill companies, UPN and WB were great! (well at least the WB)

This is pretty cool. The WB is creating an IPTV channel which has some of the shows that they used to air.
